    Interesting Facts About District 140:
    • Organized in 1949.
    • Encompassing the communities of Congerville, Eureka, and Goodfield and surrounding areas: 113 square miles.
    • Governed by a seven member elected Board of Education. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Eureka High School Library, 200 West Cruger Avenue, Eureka, IL.
    • An active Citizens' Advisory Council representing a cross section of district residents and students.
    • Highest enrollment since the district was formed: 1,736.
    • Enrollment in 2011-12: 1,584.
    • Personnel employed: 122 certified staff; 82 support staff.
    • 61% of the teaching staff hold a Masters degree or above.
    • All teachers meet the highly qualified standards of the No Child Left Behind Act.
    • A quality curriculum is offered with a variety of courses available.
    • Full and half day kindergarten are available.
    • Joint agreement with Illinois Central College for students to earn college credit.
    • A wide variety of extra curricular activities: Eureka Middle School: 11 activities; Eureka High School: 24 activities.
    • Nutritious breakfast and lunch are available to all students.
    • Bus service is provided for students living over 1.5 miles from school.
